Orphanage
Orfanato (Orphanage) is a point-and-click game developed during the game design course. The development engine was Game Maker Studio.
It's a short game with a macabre narrative about children living in an orphanage and needing to deal with a sadistic priest. The story was based on a short story that was prepared for a Halloween party we held in 2017 (Yes, I love Halloween!).
SOLO DEV
The Orphanage was my first point-and-click game developed during Game Design college. It was a game in which I handled all the necessary aspects to bring it to life: game design, level design, UI/UX, programming, and implementation in Game Maker Studio 2.
Level Design
At that time, since I hadn't mastered game modeling tools and I'm not an illustrator, I utilized my architectural modeling skills in Sketchup to create the foundation of each room in the game. Later, with the rendered clay images, I worked with digital painting in Photoshop to achieve the final art style of the game.
For the layout of the rooms, I indeed created an architectural plan for the orphanage, including modeling the entire house. I was thrilled with the outcome when I saw players testing the game and successfully navigating through it.
